As we wrap up the Ann Arbor Art fairs this year, here at the Deli we are indulging in art of a different sort – the art of creating delicious Traditional Balsamic Vinegar! We’re traveling with the magic of Zoom to Italy to talk with Acetaia del Cristo. We’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most mysterious products at the Deli, those precious bottles of nirvana that we keep in the locked cabinet in our pantry section. Along with all the great knowledge, you’ll get a specially crafted tasting kit with hand-filled vials for 3 different flights of balsamic – an age comparison, a finishing wood comparison at 12 years, and a finishing wood comparison at 25 years. These tasting kits are not sold anywhere in the US, but we have a limited quantity to provide to you for this special event. This event is far less expensive than a plane ticket to Italy, but you’ll feel like you’re tasting this vinegar right inside the production facility. OK, maybe not exactly that, but about as close as you can get for $120.
