Artist statement:

My everyday work and passions involve being physically active outdoors, farming, gardening, and maintaining my flock of sheep.

These activities have me constantly moving, considering, and observing details.

In partnership with my husband as fine furniture makers, I am also surrounded by materials and surfaces that often reveal their potential and beauty.

My latest series of landscapes reflects my daily endeavors.

Utilizing materials and techniques from our furniture making, I use a layered approach by scrubbing, wiping, sanding, and reapplying the paints. I often allow the grain in the wood to inform the final outcome of my landscapes. 

Complementing each piece, my handmade wooden frames surround each view as a meaningful moment, observed and appreciated.
