Cured and smoked pork belly (aka BACON!) has had books, songs and countless cookbooks dedicated to it over the years. In this Bacon 101 class, we’ll walk you through the basics of bacon, talk about the impact curing and smoking techniques have on the finished products, and our favorite ways for incorporating bacon into every meal of the day. Share your love of bacon with Specialty Foods department meat buyer Connor and monger Chad. They will share their hands-on technical know-how and some behind-the-scenes knowledge and footage gained by Connor on his trips to visit our producers. Oh yeah, and of course, we’ll be tasting bacon!!

Please note: The best way for you to enjoy the bacon during this virtual tasting is to cook it at home prior to the event. You will receive your tasting kit with the bacon in it’s raw state and we will provide instructions for our favorite way to cook the bacon so that you can have your tastes ready ahead of time (or cook along during the tasting!) An added (and totally necessary) benefit of cooking the bacon at home is the sensory delight you will experience.
