Music lovers and supporters of folk, blues, and Americana are invited to a special concert to benefit Lost Voices, in tribute to the legendary Josh White, Jr. The concert will feature performances by an extraordinary lineup of artists, including Rev. Robert Jones, Matt Watroba, Kitty Donohoe, Peter Madcat Ruth, and Mike Ball. Plus a few surprises.
Josh White, Jr. was an acclaimed musician and social activist who left an indelible mark on American music with his powerful voice and storytelling. His recent passing has left a giant hole in the American music scene. This tribute concert will celebrate his enduring legacy and raise funds to support the Lost Voices mission that was so near and dear to his heart. When Mike Ball founded Lost Voices nearly two decades ago, Josh was the first artist he called on to partner in developing the concept of using songwriting to help youth heal. The lineup for this concert is identical to the first Concert for Lost Voices nearly two decades ago – minus Josh.
The afternoon will include performances that celebrate Lost Voices, while they honor Josh’s spirit and contributions to the work. There will also be a lot of “just plain fun!” The musical MC for the evening will be singer/songwriter and Lost Voices’ Associate Director Gretchen Pleuss, and all of the artists taking the stage have been directly involved with Lost Voices’ work over the years.
