Fixing Basic Knitting Mistakes

Teacher: Karen Lucas

Cost: $85

When: Tuesdays, February 6 & 20, 6:00–8:00pm

Description: Noooo! Something has gone wrong in your knitting! Now what?? Don’t worry! It happens to the best of us! Almost nothing is more empowering for knitters than learning how to fix our (inevitable) mistakes, and you’ll learn more about knitting from making and fixing mistakes than you would from perfection. In this class, geared for beginners, you’ll take a deep dive into the anatomy of knitted fabric. You’ll learn to identify common mistakes; fix dropped stitches in stockinette, garter, and ribbing; and tink and frog (yes, those are technical terms). You’ll get plenty of practice working on swatches, and you’ll come away with newfound confidence!

Prerequisites: Students should be comfortable with knitting basics: casting on, working knit and purl stitches, and binding off.
